Storm Creek is the first US-based supplier in the promotional products industry to achieve bluesign® PRODUCT status. The certification covers 75 pullover and quarter-zip styles and represents a scalable implementation of the bluesign system across a significant portion of the company’s assortment.
bluesign® PRODUCT is one of the most rigorous and transparent systems in the apparel industry. It verifies that products are made with responsible chemical management, reduced environmental impact, and safer working conditions across the supply chain.
To qualify as a bluesign® PRODUCT, a garment must contain at least 90% bluesign® APPROVED fabrics and 40% bluesign® APPROVED components, and it must be produced in facilities that meet strict environmental and social responsibility criteria. Every step, from raw materials to finished product, is evaluated to ensure safer chemistry, responsible resource use, and reduced impact on people and the environment.
Storm Creek’s internal culture, known as “Seekers of Better,” emphasizes continuous improvement rather than quick wins. Jenn Sugiyama, Brand Services Manager at bluesign, describes how that mindset translated into action:
“I was impressed that the team had bluesign and bluesign® PRODUCT as a goal before joining as a System Partner. It was one of the ways they were ‘seeking better’ to increase the sustainability in their systems, suppliers, and products. Achieving bluesign® PRODUCT is not an easy task.”
– Jenn Sugiyama, Brand Services Manager, bluesign
For Storm Creek, achieving bluesign® PRODUCT was never about just checking the box or getting certified. It was about aligning operations with values and demonstrating accountability through verified standards.
“We didn’t pursue bluesign® PRODUCT to check a box or claim a title. We did it because it aligns with our values and our responsibility as a supplier our partners trust.”
– Teresa Fudenberg, CEO, Storm Creek
With 75 certified styles, Storm Creek has established a foundation for expanding verified product-level impact across its assortment, while giving partners a clear, credible sustainability signal grounded in defined requirements and third-party verification.
