With the bluesign® standard Eschler puts emphasis on ecology as an innovative factor

A simple idea with an ambitious target is behind the bluesign® concept: Promotion of resources productivity and cost-effectiveness, with the focus on environment, health and safety, whereby no compromise is made regarding the practicality or quality of the product. The transfer of the European clothing industry to the Far East has not reduced ecological problems at all. To the contrary. Tests and examinations keep bringing to light deficiencies regarding health and the environment. "We want to give the manufacturers who buy our products the guarantee that they in turn finally need for the consumers," Philip Schär, who is responsible for sportswear fabrics explained. "We do not want to develop any "me-too-products", but innovative, exclusive qualities, in order to make our mark as a leading and uncompromising Swiss knits producer, regarding health, environment and safety. It is only when all the necessary adjustments have been put into force in the company and all the aspects of this standard are provably fulfilled that products can be distinguished with the bluesign® label.

The increasing number of negative results in recent tests of manufactured goods prove that we are on the safe side with our strategy. Thus we can, with the bluesign® label, win back the confidence of the consumer, which remains, as always, the best prerequisite for successful sales," Schär resumed. After "bluesign technologies ag" had been founded in 2000, Christian Eschler AG produced already in 2001 as one of the first companies a sports fabric collection according to the bluesign® standard. In the meantime all their sports textiles can be awarded this label.
