The bluesign® standard guarantees that along the complete production chain, products only contain components and pass through processes that are harmless to people and the environment.
Implementation for retailers with RSL
Retailers, who implement the bluesign® standard in their supply chain, comply automatically with their RSL. The bluesign® standard does not substitute the RSL but rather easily fulfil it. In addition, analytical testing of final products is drastically reduced while the risk of a non-compliance situation is minimised.

- Primarily select key suppliers (apply the 80:20 rule) to change to the bluesign® standard
Implementation for retailers without RSL
Retailers without RSL, who work with the bluesign® standard, comply with the most stringent international regulations at all times. The implementation takes place without in-house EHS-specialists and without the maintenance of an RSL.

- Sample testing and evaluation thereof can also be performed by bluesign technologies ag on behalf of the retailer
Trademark use
Optional, final products incl. accessories that meet the requirements of the bluesign® standard, can be certified with the "bluesign® product" label.
- Agreement: sign system partner agreement including secrecy clause
- Supply chain: exclusively use "bluesign® approved fabric" textiles and "bluesign® approved" accessories (buttons, zippers etc.) in cut, make and trim
- Certification and release: final approval of the final product by bluesign technologies ag, labeling as "bluesign® product"
